Regulation

Regulate before interpreting

Why the first useful move is often settling the state before explaining the story.

State changes meaning

When activation is high, interpretation can become urgent, narrow and threat-shaped. The story may feel certain before it is complete.

A short pause, body cue or grounding practice can make the same information easier to read.

A practical sequence

Name the state, separate feeling from fact, then choose the smallest action that still protects what matters.

The aim is not to suppress emotion. The aim is to make the next interpretation more reliable.

iReflective assessment only. Not a diagnosis.

These assessments use psychologically recognised language to describe patterns, traits, symptoms and relational dynamics. They are for self-reflection and education only. They do not diagnose mental disorders, and they are not a substitute for assessment, therapy or care from a qualified professional.
